"Secret Daughter" - Shilpi Somaya Gowda

Exxellent book! The story of an adopted Indian girl with her Californian mother and Indian father. In parallel, the story of her biological parent struggling to survive poverty and the grief of abandoning their daughters to have a "first born" son. Very well written and touching.
