"The Winter Palace" - Eva Stachniak

The story of a spy in the troubled years between the reigns of Elisabeth and Catherine the Great. A nice overview of the years leading to Catherine's reign, through the eyes of one of her 'tongue'. Really well written, gives a real feel of what the Russian court might have been liked. Good character description. Overall, very good, should read more from this author.
